Quick Thought: If Love Is Patient…

Interesting that the first thing love is, according to the famous “love chapter” in 1 Corinthians 13, is patient.
Seems to be a tough one for most of us to master.
And if LOVE is patient, what does impatience convey?

“…I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love.”
– Ephesians 4:1-2

Christmas SOTD: O Holy Night | Josh Groban

Growing in Grace Today’s 25 “Christmas Songs of the Day.”

This has become the definitive version of this song (although, I’m only featuring this one because there isn’t any video of Courtney Chizmadia and the Grace Worship Team’s 2013 rendition!) Did you know that this song was originally declared “unfit for church services” and BANNED in France? It’sbeen sung all over the globe for over 165 years and Josh Groban delivers a performance for the ages!

In all our trials born to be our friends.
He knows our need, our weakness is no stranger,

John 1:14 says,

#24- Dec 24, 2013 – Josh Groban | O Holy Night

So the Word became humanand made his home among us. He was full of unfailing love and faithfulness. And we have seen his glory, the glory of the Father’s one and only Son.
– John 1:14

Christmas SOTD: Shining | Sanctus Real

Growing in Grace Today’s 25 “Christmas Songs of the Day.”

Here’s a lesser known song from Sanctus Real. Love how it points out that Jesus came “just like You promised.” While the New Testament tells the story of Jesus, the entire Old Testament points toward that day, that first Christmas morning, when Hope was born…

#15- Dec 15, 2013 – Sanctus Real | Shining

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

– Isaiah 9:6 (Written approx 700 years BEFORE Jesus was born!)

#14 – Dec 14, 2013 – Owl City (feat. Tobymac) | Light Of Christmas

In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Christmas SOTD: What Kind Of Child | Evan Wickham

Growing in Grace Today’s 25 “Christmas Songs of the Day.”

Phil Wickham’s older brother Evan wrote a great song with Jadon Lavik a couple of years ago. It was an independent project and never really broke through, in terms of radio airplay or commercial success. You can’t even find a video on YouTube, but it’s a great song and I wanted to share it here. I hope you like it as much as I do.

I heard Your truth, I saw the sign, my Hope is born tonight. What kind of child is this, even the angels praise Him? The night is dark, the Light is come. Immanuel…

#13- Dec 13, 2013 – Evan Wickham | What Kind Of Child

See, the virgin will become pregnant and give birth to a son, and they will name Him Immanuel, which is translated “God is with us.” will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.
– Matthew 1:23 (HCSB)
